Green Friday : Pas de promotion, mais une bonne action !

Green Friday: No promotion, but a good action!

What is Black Friday?

A commercial tradition imported from the United States, the last Friday in November, called "Black Friday", takes place the day after Thanksgiving. This day of promotions marks the start of shopping for the end-of-year holidays.

In just a few years, "Black Friday" has become established on most continents and has become the symbol of unbridled consumption. In addition to offering often misleading promotions, Black Friday tends towards a logic of hyperconsumption that creates a disproportionate social and environmental impact.

What is Green Friday?

The Green Friday movement is based on a question: how can we produce more and more, at a lower cost, with the sole aim of blind consumption, without harming the environment and people?

To say stop to this consumption that has become kamikaze, disconnected from environmental and social costs, Green Friday is mobilizing.

Initiated by the Envie network in 2017, Green Friday takes place every year during the Black Friday period. Since its creation, Green Friday has aimed to raise awareness among the French about more responsible consumption by reminding them that every act of consumption has an impact, that it is urgent to seize our purchasing power and that there are alternatives to traditional consumption.

Without feeling guilty, Green Friday invites citizens to question their consumption patterns and to take responsibility by appealing to their free will as consumer actors.

How do we support the cause?

To support the Green Friday movement, Airpurlabs has decided not to run any promotions on November 27. Instead, 10% of the turnover made on that day will be donated to the association "Halt à l'Obsolescence Planmée" , which fights against the voluntary reduction of the lifespan of products to accelerate their renewal.
