Éliminer les polluants chimiques

Eliminate chemical pollutants

Air pollution in the kitchen

The main pollutants in the kitchen are dust and cooking odors.

Cooking food causes dust and chemicals that degrade the air quality in your kitchen and can cause respiratory problems. To purify the air in the kitchen, it's all about ventilation. When you're preparing good meals, don't forget to open the hood and open the windows .

There is also the risk of carbon monoxide leakage from certain faulty combustion appliances: Water heaters, stoves, boilers and cooking equipment; wood, coal, gas or fuel oil are real dangers if they are poorly installed or damaged. Be vigilant, because carbon monoxide is a substance odorless and colorless which can cause serious health problems if inhaled in large amounts.

Air pollution in the bathroom

The main pollutants in the bathroom are mold spores and VOCs from household products.

The pollutants that degrade the air quality in your bathroom are mainly organic . These are mold spores and they are abundant in damp and dark rooms . The icing on the cake is that to eliminate them, you use cleaning agents that also emit pollutants called volatile organic compounds (VOCs) .

This vicious circle of indoor air pollution can be avoided by installing an efficient ventilation system, but also by carrying out measured and airy cleaning to replace polluted air as quickly as possible .

Air pollution in the living room

The main pollutants in the living room are tobacco smoke and chemicals.

Ambiance products (candles, incense) and the air freshener sprays with which you think you will purify the air in your living room are real pollutants! They emit Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) which mask odors, certainly, but which significantly degrade the quality of the air and can affect breathing. The best is to limit their use and to ventilate . The Ministry of Ecological Transition recommends renewing the air whenever you use one of these products and in general, twice a day.

Then, be aware that the compounds from tobacco smoke (tar, carbon monoxide, heavy metals, etc.) become embedded in furniture and textiles (what we call environmental tobacco). They pollute the air in your home up to 18 hours after smoking the last cigarette , even if you air it! Only one solution here, Avoid smoking indoors .

Air pollution in the bedroom

The main pollutants in the bedroom are dust mites, embedded in mattresses, curtains, carpets, sofas, etc.

Mites love to sleep next to you! They nest in bedding and carpets and release allergens that are harmful to health. To limit their presence in your bedroom, you will have no choice but to clean, change your bedding regularly and renew the air .

For efficient cleaning, choose using a vacuum cleaner by changing the bags regularly . Ideally, you can opt for a device equipped with a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter, capable of retaining the finest dust responsible for indoor pollution.

Finally, Beware of stain-resistant, anti-mite and anti-allergy fabrics marketed to protect mattresses from various allergens. These treatments can release Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that are harmful to the respiratory tract.
